Job description

AMD is seeking a Silicon Design Engineer to contribute to the research, design, development, and testing of electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role emphasizes collaboration and innovation within a team dedicated to advancing next-generation computing experiences. The engineer will utilize their knowledge of electronic theory and engineering principles to work on ASIC development and complex integrated circuits. This position offers multiple openings and does not require prior experience.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, or a related field.
  • Experience in hardware and software verification.
  • Proficiency in Verilog, System Verilog, or VHDL.
  • Knowledge of C, C++, or Python.
  • Familiarity with design flows and methodologies used for chip verification.
  • Experience with ASIC design tools such as synthesis, simulation, equivalence checking, and static timing analysis.
  • Ability to work in Unix or Linux environments.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Perform definition, design, verification, and documentation for ASIC development.
  • Determine architecture design, logic design, and system simulation.
  • Define module interfaces and formats for simulation.
  • Contribute to the development of multidimensional designs involving complex integrated circuits.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis, place and route, and timing and power use.
  • Work on problems of moderate scope requiring analysis of various factors.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics, including circuit boards, processors, chips, and electronic equipment.
