Job description

AMD is seeking a Senior Member of Technical Staff (SMTS) Systems Design Engineer to research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing. The role emphasizes innovation and collaboration, contributing to the design of complex frameworks and systems. Candidates will utilize their expertise in electronic theory and engineering principles to influence future product development. This position allows for remote work and is part of a team dedicated to advancing next-generation computing experiences.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Electronics Engineering, or related field.
  • Four years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field and six years of experience in the job offered or a closely related engineering role.
  • Four years of experience in logic and circuit design, RTL design/coding, product development cycles, Unix/Linux environments, and C/C++ and Python.
  • One year of experience in Verilog/VHDL and ASIC design tools.

Responsibilities

  • Research, design, develop, and test electronic components and systems for semiconductor manufacturing.
  • Design complete and complex frameworks, systems, or products.
  • Define processes for technical platforms, system specifications, and compatibility.
  • Conceive system interfaces and business application prototypes.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve system design weaknesses.
  • Provide multi-layered technical expertise for next-generation initiatives.
  • Evaluate all aspects of the process flow from high-level designs to synthesis and timing analysis.
  • Utilize knowledge of computers and electronics in the design and testing of AMD products.
