Job description

The MTS Hardware Development Engineer at AMD will lead the development of system-level architectures and board-level implementations from early concept through production launch. This role involves interfacing with cross-functional teams and supervising design work produced by junior engineers and external suppliers. The engineer will analyze designs using simulation tools and ensure compliance with design requirements. The position emphasizes collaboration, innovation, and the ability to drive projects to completion with high quality.

Requirements

  • Master's degree or foreign equivalent in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related field.
  • Three years of experience in the job offered or in a closely related engineering role.
  • Alternatively, a Bachelor's degree or foreign equivalent in a related field with five years of progressive post-baccalaureate experience.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the development of system-level architectures and board-level implementations.
  • Prepare specifications, BOM, design, and schematic entry internally.
  • Supervise the design work product generated by junior engineers and external suppliers.
  • Make decisions related to layout guidelines for PCBs and supervise Layout Engineers.
  • Analyze designs with simulation tools and verify conformance to design requirements.
  • Lead and mentor layout, system bring-up, and debug teams.
  • Work with suppliers, contractors, and principal design engineers to ensure timely product development.
  • Specify production test methods and limits.
  • Balance cost, performance, quality, and schedule while supervising international and domestic engineering teams.
