Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Software Engineering Manager to lead a team focused on developing security-critical root-of-trust firmware for data center systems. The role involves managing a distributed team of experienced engineers and fostering a culture of autonomy and excellence. The manager will be responsible for ensuring the quality and security of firmware while driving the adoption of modern software engineering practices. This position requires a balance of technical leadership and effective communication across multiple time zones.

Requirements

  • BS, MS, or PhD in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent experience.
  • 10+ years of relevant software or firmware engineering experience, including work in security-critical, embedded, or low-level systems software.
  • 5+ years of engineering management experience with a track record of building high-performing teams.
  • Experience managing distributed, remote-first engineering teams across multiple time zones.
  • Deep familiarity with modern software engineering methodologies such as agile development and continuous integration.
  • Solid technical foundation in C/C++ and embedded systems.

Responsibilities

  • Own the delivery, quality, and security posture of root-of-trust firmware across NVIDIA’s data center compute platforms.
  • Lead, mentor, and grow a distributed team of senior firmware and security engineers.
  • Drive adoption of modern software engineering practices, including rigorous code review and automated testing.
  • Champion an AI-forward engineering culture by using and encouraging AI coding assistants.
  • Establish and maintain effective asynchronous-first communication practices for the team.
  • Partner with security architects and hardware engineers to define requirements and review designs.
  • Manage project planning and execution, tracking risks and communicating status to senior leadership.
  • Drive continuous improvement in engineering processes and team structure.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
