Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced engineer to design and implement microcontroller firmware for GPU server platforms, primarily focusing on ARM M-class microcontrollers. The role involves developing server manageability features in an RTOS embedded environment and collaborating with security and hardware teams. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in low-level firmware development and a strong understanding of embedded systems. This position offers the opportunity to work at the forefront of AI computing technology.

Requirements

  • A Bachelor of Science Degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience.
  • 12+ years of experience in low level microcontroller firmware development on embedded microcontrollers using Zephyr or FreeRTOS.
  • Demonstrated experience in developing BMC and/or microcontroller firmware for managing CPU, GPU, Network and Storage Devices.
  • Experience with embedded interfaces such as USB and I3C.
  • Strong embedded programming and scripting skills using C/C++, Bash, Python, Go, etc.
  • Solid understanding of Linux fundamentals and various distributions.

Responsibilities

  • Design and implement microcontroller firmware for GPU server platforms.
  • Develop C/C++ server manageability features in an RTOS embedded-optimized environment.
  • Perform hands-on work with microcontroller firmware bring-up, debugging, and performance analysis.
  • Develop embedded management software for reporting and connectivity between server management devices.
  • Implement register-based communication and DMTF standard messaging protocols.
  • Collaborate with security and hardware teams to ensure code aligns with security goals.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
