Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Physical Design Methodology Engineer to join its Networking Silicon engineering team. This role focuses on developing innovative physical design methodologies for graphics processors and SOCs, aiming to enhance performance, power, and area (PPA). The engineer will work in a collaborative environment to tackle complex design challenges and contribute to the creation of high-speed communication devices. Requirements

  • MS in Electrical, Computer Engineering, computer science, or equivalent experience
  • 10+ years of experience in Physical Design Engineering with ML-based solution development experience
  • Proven implementation of ML-based solutions
  • Familiarity with aspects of chip design including floor planning, clock and power distribution, place and route, integration, and verification
  • Strong background with hierarchical design approach, top-down design, budgeting, timing, and physical convergence
  • Solid understanding of standard industry PnR tools and analysis tools

Responsibilities

  • Develop efficient physical design methodologies for the implementation of graphics processors and SOCs
  • Create unique and creative solutions to state-of-the-art physical design problems to improve PPA
  • Participate in developing flow and tool methodologies for P&R, timing analysis and closure, and back-end verification
  • Conduct data-based analysis and algorithmic solutions for PPA check and improvement
  • Work on chip floorplan, power and clock distribution, and chip assembly
