Job description
The Senior Performance Verification Engineer will be part of the CPU Performance verification Team, focusing on performance correlation and analysis of workloads and benchmarks. This role involves developing microbenchmarks and creating verification infrastructure for performance analysis. Requirements
- BS or MS in Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, or equivalent experience; PhD is a plus.
- 3+ years of experience in CPU performance modeling, performance correlation, or performance analysis.
- Strong understanding of CPU micro architecture and designs.
- Experience with workload analysis and characterization.
- Strong coding skills in scripting languages like Perl, Python, or C++.
- Good communication skills and a desire to work as a team player.
Responsibilities
- Define, plan, implement, and execute performance verification strategy for sophisticated CPU designs.
- Analyze the lowest level details of CPU unit design specifications and their performance impact.
- Interact with architects and design engineers to define the scope of micro architectural features.
- Draft detailed performance test plans and create scalable micros to validate features.
- Analyze and correlate CPU benchmarks and workloads.
- Build infrastructure and tooling needed for efficient performance correlation debugging.
- Lead and provide technical guidance to junior engineers.
- Manage multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.
