Job description

NVIDIA is looking for a Senior Firmware Engineer to join the CSP Engagements team, focusing on system software for Datacenter products. This role requires a blend of technical expertise in embedded firmware development and customer-facing responsibilities to support cloud service providers. The engineer will work at the intersection of hardware and software, driving solutions from concept to deployment. The position involves collaborating with various teams and directly engaging with customers to deliver optimized technical solutions.

Requirements

  • Deep expertise in data center server architectures, HPC systems, and hardware-software co-design.
  • Deep expertise in embedded firmware, server management controllers, and hardware bring-up with a proven track record of shipping production BMC solutions.
  • Strong knowledge of DMTF protocols including Redfish, IPMI, PLDM, MCTP, and SPDM.
  • Expert-level skills in C/C++ in resource-constrained embedded environments, RTOS, device drivers, and low-level protocols.
  • Experience with RAS including error handling, error injection, fault isolation, and system health monitoring.
  • BS or MS in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8-12 years of system software development experience.

Responsibilities

  • Design and develop firmware solutions for manageability and observability of data center servers.
  • Participate in hardware bring-up activities, OOB firmware development, and protocol stacks.
  • Debug and troubleshoot NVIDIA GPU firmware issues and provide support to CSPs.
  • Partner directly with CSPs to deliver technical solutions and support during new product introductions.
  • Perform advanced system debugging, root cause analysis, and performance optimization.
  • Collaborate with AE, FAE, and Solution Architect teams to deliver integrated customer solutions.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
