NVIDIA is seeking a Senior Research Scientist to focus on Multimodal Foundation Models and Robotics within the Generalist Embodied Agent Research (GEAR) group. The role involves building humanoid robot foundation models and systems, contributing to influential research in multimodal foundation models and large-scale robot learning. The successful candidate will collaborate with a team dedicated to developing general-purpose embodied agents that can learn complex skills in both virtual and physical environments. This position offers the opportunity to impact significant research projects and product roadmaps.
Requirements
- A Ph.D. in Computer Science/Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent research experience.
- 5 years of relevant work/research experience in Multimodal Foundation Models or Robotics.
- Hands-on training experience and publications in topics such as LLMs, large vision-language models, or reinforcement learning.
- Outstanding engineering skills in rapid prototyping and model training frameworks like PyTorch, Jax, or Tensorflow.
- Strong programming skills in Python, C++, and ROS.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement novel AI algorithms and models for humanoid robots and embodied agents.
- Develop large-scale AI training and inference methods for foundation models.
- Optimize and deploy AI models in physical simulation and on robot hardware.
- Collaborate with research and engineering teams across NVIDIA to transfer research to products and services.
Benefits
- Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
