Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an engineer to join the OpenShell team, focusing on the build, packaging, release, and CI/CD foundation for a platform that supports autonomous AI agents. The role involves ensuring the reliability of the system from source code to shipped artifacts. The engineer will work with various CI/CD tools and technologies to enhance the development experience and improve release processes. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to cutting-edge AI technologies in a collaborative environment.

Requirements

  • Minimum of a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, or a related technical field, or equivalent experience.
  • 8+ years of meaningful engineering experience, with strong ownership of build, release, CI/CD, developer infrastructure, or systems tooling.
  • Deep experience with GitHub Actions or similar CI systems, including reusable workflows and failure diagnosis.
  • Strong Linux systems and shell scripting skills, with the ability to debug build failures.
  • Experience shipping multi-platform artifacts, including container images and Linux packages.
  • Working knowledge of Rust and Python build ecosystems.
  • Experience with Docker, Kubernetes deployment/testing flows, and OCI images.
  • Strong understanding of supply-chain hardening and release risk management.

Responsibilities

  • Own and evolve OpenShell's CI/CD system across various platforms and runners.
  • Build and harden multi-architecture release pipelines for different artifacts.
  • Improve release reliability for both rolling builds and tagged public releases.
  • Drive reproducible and performant builds using various tools and technologies.
  • Own the quality gates that decide whether code is safe to merge or ship.
  • Debug difficult build and release failures across multiple environments.
  • Partner with platform engineers to enhance installation and operation processes.
  • Continuously improve CI observability, failure diagnostics, and developer experience.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
