Job description
The Senior I/O Architect role at NVIDIA focuses on defining advanced chip interconnects and protocols for the NVLink chip-to-chip team. This position involves collaborating with various teams to develop next-generation communication standards and products. The architect will lead efforts in researching and crafting architecture solutions while optimizing for performance, area, power, security, and resiliency. The role encompasses the entire product lifecycle, from initial requirements to implementation and validation.
Requirements
- MS or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience
- 10+ years of relevant experience in architecture, design, and verification
- Proven experience over link layer architecture including Transaction layer, Data link layer, and Physical layer
- Experience with existing interconnects such as PCIE, UCIE, and Chip to Chip links
- Knowledge of industry standard protocols like CHI, CXL, and AXI
- Ability to define system architecture with NVLINK-C2C interconnects and software stack
- Experience leading projects from concept through product lifecycle
Responsibilities
- Research and craft architecture solutions for chip-to-chip communication
- Work with design teams to define interfaces and flows between NVLink C2C blocks and the rest of the chip
- Drive implementation across design, verification, firmware, and software teams
- Collaborate with multi-functional teams to drive interconnect technology development and integration
- Evaluate and trade off technical solutions to meet platform requirements for current and future products
- Architectural modeling, validation, definition, and documentation
