Job description
The Home PD EPM role focuses on the development, validation, and assembly of mechanical components for new Home products, guiding them from architecture definition to mass production. This position combines technical expertise with program management skills and offers leadership exposure. The role involves managing product prototype builds and collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure design goals and quality standards are met. Effective communication and status reporting to both individual contributors and executive management are essential.
Requirements
- BS degree in Engineering is required, with a preference for Mechanical Engineering.
- A minimum of 3 years of experience in program management or mechanical engineering design in product development is necessary.
- Excellent communication, presentation, organizational, and leadership skills are required.
- A strong technical background in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering is essential.
- Knowledge of product development processes and manufacturing fundamentals is required.
- Experience with metal stamping, forging, machining (CNC), die casting, plastic injection molding, and MIM is highly desirable.
- A Master's degree in Engineering is a plus.
Responsibilities
- Manage the planning and execution of product prototype builds.
- Lead cross-functional teams and external vendors to meet design goals and schedules.
- Facilitate feedback through the internal design review process.
- Maintain good communication and provide status updates to individual contributors and executive management.
- Manage complex build matrices and build planning through complex schedules.
- Interface with cross-functional teams including Mechanical Engineering, Design, Systems Engineering, Reliability, Operations, and Marketing.
- Demonstrate creative and critical thinking capabilities.
- Remain flexible and calm in the face of rapid development cycles and shifting priorities.
- Travel internationally to support builds as needed.
