Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a motivated Deep Learning engineer to enhance communication technologies within AI stacks. The role involves working with advanced frameworks like PyTorch and JAX, focusing on multi-GPU communication for deep learning and high-performance computing applications. The engineer will collaborate with a dynamic team to improve AI toolkits and contribute to the development of innovative technologies. This position offers an opportunity to influence the roadmap of communication libraries and advance the state of the art in AI.

Requirements

  • B.S, M.S. or PhD in Computer Science or a related field with 5+ years of software engineering and HPC/AI experience.
  • Development or integration experience with Deep Learning Frameworks such as PyTorch and JAX.
  • Experience with Inference Engines like TRT-LLM, vLLM, and SGLang.
  • Proficiency in rapid prototyping and development using Python, C++, CUDA, or related DSLs.
  • Solid understanding of AI models, parallelism, and compiler technologies.

Responsibilities

  • Integrate new communication library features in AI frameworks from proof of concept to performance analysis and production.
  • Perform deep analysis of AI workloads and frameworks to identify multi-GPU communication requirements.
  • Improve AI compilers to optimize communication and perform automatic fusion.
  • Conduct in-depth performance characterization of AI workloads on multi-GPU clusters.
  • Design fault-tolerant and elastic solutions for large-scale AI workloads.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
