Job description

NVIDIA is seeking an experienced system design Hardware Engineer to join the Silicon Solutions Group. This role focuses on leading system-design efforts to enhance semiconductor quality across various products, including data centers and automotive solutions. The engineer will work collaboratively with multiple teams to address complex challenges and improve next-generation silicon performance and reliability. This position offers an opportunity to contribute to groundbreaking technologies in a dynamic work environment.

Requirements

  • 9+ years in system architecture, design, and semiconductor bringup experience.
  • BS/MS in Electrical or Computer Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Strong EE fundamentals including digital design, computer architecture, and power/timing/fault analysis.
  • Deep understanding of firmware/driver interaction with hardware.
  • Knowledge of PVT dependencies, binning methodologies, and VF characterization.
  • Experience in performance and power management including DVFS and power gating.
  • Hands-on validation skills with oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, and lab debugging.
  • Understanding of fault models, DPPM, quality metrics, and RAS is a plus.
  • Established proficiency in collaborative, multi-functional environments.

Responsibilities

  • Design workarounds and solutions through lab experimentation.
  • Develop, prototype, and validate system-level features on existing and new silicon.
  • Lead system design in partnership with architecture, software, chip/board designers, ASIC, and operations teams.
  • Lead hardware-side debug efforts to root cause feature bugs and silicon defects.
  • Develop advanced debug tools and infrastructure to meet aggressive schedules.
  • Collaborate with manufacturing and customer teams to resolve production issues.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
