Job description

NVIDIA is seeking a highly motivated software engineer to join their video software team, focusing on system software development. The role involves contributing to the video system software stack and working on innovative projects such as cloud gaming and video broadcasting. Candidates will collaborate with various teams and own features throughout their lifecycle. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact in a diverse and supportive environment.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or Computer Science or equivalent experience, with a Master's degree preferred.
  • 8+ years of meaningful software development experience, with outstanding engineers with less experience considered.
  • Proficiency in C/C++ with strong software development, optimization, and debugging skills.
  • Experience with Windows or Linux driver development is helpful, with knowledge of operating system internals and device driver models being a strong plus.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft MFT, DirectShow, DirectX, DXVA, video processing, and modern video compression standards such as H.264, HEVC, VP9, and AV1 is advantageous.

Responsibilities

  • Contribute to the video system software stack and work on groundbreaking projects.
  • Learn about GPUs and video hardware accelerators to build world-class solutions.
  • Contribute to the Windows device driver that powers video acceleration.
  • Collaborate with multiple teams across the company, as well as partners and customers.
  • Own features through the whole lifecycle from requirements and design to production.

Benefits

  • Employees at NVIDIA are often offered comprehensive, day-one benefits—including medical, dental, and vision coverage with HSA support, life and disability insurance, an Employee Assistance Program, and a 401(k) with auto-enrollment. Many roles also have generous time off and holidays, donation matching (up to $10,000), and a wide menu of extras like FSAs, commuter benefits, legal and identity-theft protection, pet insurance, and wellness discounts. Optional programs can include student-loan and home-purchase support, plus family care resources and expert medical services.
