Job description

As a CPU Performance Architect at Intel, you will be instrumental in advancing CPU designs that cater to high-performance computing and low-power products. This role involves defining architecture specifications that influence the performance and efficiency of CPUs across various market segments. You will collaborate with cross-functional teams to innovate microarchitectural approaches and refine designs to meet evolving demands. Your expertise will help Intel maintain its leadership in the industry by delivering cutting-edge CPU solutions.

Requirements

  • Master's Degree with at least 10 years of experience or a PhD with 6+ years of experience in CPU performance.
  • 8+ years of continuous work with cycle accurate C++ CPU performance simulators.
  • Expertise in designing high performance CPUs in areas such as Branch Prediction, Fetch/Decode, and Memory Subsystem.
  • Strong background in microarchitecture, RTL, and logic development.
  • Proven ability to resolve complex problems using analytical and technical skills.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive end-to-end CPU microarchitecture specifications for optimized and scalable CPUs.
  • Evaluate feasibility tradeoffs and define new approaches for CPU microarchitectures.
  • Model CPU performance and analyze bottlenecks of current performance features.
  • Collaborate with architects and engineers throughout the project execution.
  • Deliver definitions of new microarchitecture and address issues during feature implementation.
