Job description

As a CPU Architect at Intel, you will lead the development of innovative CPU designs for high-performance and low-power computing. This role is crucial in shaping the future of technology, influencing cross-functional roadmaps, and ensuring optimal performance and efficiency. You will work collaboratively to define architecture specifications and drive the creation of revolutionary CPU architectures. Your expertise will help address diverse market requirements and contribute to Intel's mission of delivering cutting-edge solutions.

Requirements

  • 15+ years of experience within high performance/high frequency ARM or x86 CPU organizations in design or architectural domains.
  • 10+ years of experience working within the out-of-order sections of the CPU pipeline.
  • 5+ years writing RTL and managing timing and power convergence across multiple generations of a CPU line.
  • 2+ years of experience building advanced integer and/or floating-point/vector schedulers.

Responsibilities

  • Develop and drive end-to-end CPU architecture specifications based on hardware features and requirements.
  • Define CPU targets for performance, power, frequency, area, and feature content.
  • Explore new approaches and devise novel architectures for optimized CPUs across multiple segments.
  • Invent and specify architectural features that address future CPU usage and segment needs.
  • Define and document new instructions to support innovative use cases and enhance the instruction set architecture.
  • Develop and execute test plans for new architectures/features and analyze test results.
  • Propose experimental changes and design alternatives to meet performance, power, area, and timing constraints.
  • Review and influence cross-functional roadmaps and collaborate with various engineering teams.
  • Drive the definition of new microarchitectures and identify mitigations for implementation issues.

Benefits

  • Intel offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, stock programs, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and programs supporting employee wellbeing and professional development.
