Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a quantitative professional to join their Public Finance Business within the Fixed Income Division. The role involves building models and applications that enhance risk assessment and workflow automation in a fast-paced financial environment. Candidates will work with advanced technologies, including AI, to innovate and improve existing processes. This position offers the opportunity to make a significant impact by developing tools that are actively used in decision-making.

Requirements

  • Master's or PhD in a quantitative field, or a strong undergraduate background with demonstrated hands-on experience.
  • Strong proficiency in Python, capable of writing clean, testable, production-ready code.
  • Fluency in CI/CD practices, including Git and Docker.
  • Solid understanding of statistics and probability fundamentals.
  • Some exposure to fixed income or a strong willingness to learn quickly.
  • Experience using Generative AI coding tools such as Copilot or Cursor.

Responsibilities

  • Build models to help the desk understand risk accumulation.
  • Develop a React dashboard to present model outputs in real time.
  • Automate workflows to significantly reduce processing time.
  • Integrate AI agents to analyze deal documents and flag anomalies.
  • Challenge existing business assumptions using data-driven insights.
