Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President, Lead Software Engineer in New York to develop low-latency real-time risk systems and solutions utilizing big data and distributed computing. The role involves working with various hedge fund strategies and complex data analytics across asset classes. The engineer will focus on building the next generation Risk and Margins platform, emphasizing scale, performance, and direct client impact. This position allows for telecommuting up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
  • Requires three years of experience in the position offered or three years as a Software Engineer, Application Developer, Technical Team Lead, or a closely related occupation.
  • Requires three years of experience with programming languages including Java, C++, SQL, and Python.
  • Requires experience with technologies such as Matplotlib, Spring Core, Spring Boot, and Spring Batch.
  • Requires familiarity with tools and platforms including Splunk, Bitbucket, Kafka, and GitHub.

Responsibilities

  • Build low-latency real-time risk systems and solutions around big data and distributed computing.
  • Work on strategic initiatives to renovate and scale client offerings for Client Margin.
  • Focus on scale, performance, and direct client impact.
  • Coordinate direct business approval and development strategy.
