Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate Software Engineer in New York to design and develop features for their electronic trading application. Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
- Requires two years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate, Analyst, or a closely related technical occupation.
- Requires two years of experience with object oriented programming and development including building real-time distributed systems.
- Requires two years of experience with Linux/Unix, data structures, algorithm design, and multithreaded programming.
- Requires two years of experience with SQL and implementing stored procedures.
- Requires two years of experience with Python for automation and tooling.
- Requires two years of experience with networking protocols including TCP/IP, UDP, and multicast.
- Requires experience operating production systems and troubleshooting complex issues in high-availability environments.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop features for the electronic trading application based on client requests.
- Identify and troubleshoot production issues and implement fixes rapidly while coordinating with Application Support and partner teams.
- Execute schema and stored procedure updates to enable reliable data use in trading workflows.
- Build and maintain Python automation scripts to grab, replay, and compare trading messages.
- Engage with coverage desks and the FIX onboarding team to lead significant client onboardings.
- Plan and deliver CCS-driven initiatives that require cross-team alignment under tight timelines.
- Partner with gateway and platform teams to deliver solutions across Client Gateway and adjacent applications.
- Translate business objectives into clear technical requirements and lead testing and rollout with the Business Unit.
