Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate, Data & Analytics Engineer in South Jordan, UT, to analyze data and create models that depict fraud trends within the customer base. The role involves developing data visualizations and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and improve fraud detection methods. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance tools and data sources while communicating findings to management and stakeholders. This position allows for telecommuting up to three days per week.
Requirements
- Requires a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
- Requires two years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate, Business Technology Analyst, Systems Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
- Requires two years of experience with SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables.
- Requires two years of experience with data visualization to create interactive dashboards and reports.
- Requires two years of experience in data modeling, validation, testing, and cleansing.

Responsibilities
- Use data to create models depicting fraud trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole.
- Create data visualizations to understand fraud trends.
- Develop effective technology solutions to improve efficiency using different analytical techniques and forecasting.
- Create rules in the rule’s engine and conduct pre- and post-production testing to ensure effectiveness.
- Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Customer Service, Product Management, Engineering, and Technology.
- Communicate trends, findings, proposals, and solutions to management and stakeholders.
- Measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Recommend or introduce new tools used for fraud detection, prevention, and reporting activities.
- Execute complex SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables.
