Morgan Stanley is seeking an Associate, Data & Analytics Engineer in South Jordan, UT, to analyze data and create models that depict fraud trends within the customer base. The role involves developing data visualizations and technology solutions to enhance efficiency and improve fraud detection methods. The engineer will collaborate with various teams to enhance tools and data sources while communicating findings to management and stakeholders. This position allows for telecommuting up to three days per week.

• Requires a Master’s degree in Information Systems, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field of study.
• Requires two years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate, Business Technology Analyst, Systems Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
• Requires two years of experience with SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables.
• Requires two years of experience with data visualization to create interactive dashboards and reports.
• Requires two years of experience in data modeling, validation, testing, and cleansing.
• Requires two years of experience in designing and developing ETL pipelines to support end-to-end dataflows.
• Requires two years of experience in root cause analysis.
• Requires two years of experience in integrating and aggregating data from internal and external sources.
• Requires two years of experience in gathering business requirements from stakeholders and translating them into actionable analytics solutions.
• Requires two years of experience with AGILE methodologies.
• Requires two years of experience in enhancing data accuracy through troubleshooting and validation across data layers.
• Requires two years of experience in communicating with stakeholders and executive leadership through presentations and reports.
• Requires two years of experience in cross-functional partnerships with product, technology, and operations teams to improve data capabilities and workflows.
• Requires two years of experience in financial services, data, and products including Online banking, Transaction Data, and Checking and Savings Accounts.
• Requires two years of experience in minimizing operational risk including limiting information shared outside the firm, securing firm data, and authenticating clients.

• Use data to create models depicting fraud trends in the customer base and the consumer population as a whole.
• Create data visualizations to understand fraud trends.
• Develop effective technology solutions to improve efficiency using different analytical techniques and forecasting.
• Create rules in the rule’s engine and conduct pre- and post-production testing to ensure effectiveness.
• Collaborate with cross-functional groups such as Customer Service, Product Management, Engineering, and Technology.
• Communicate trends, findings, proposals, and solutions to management and stakeholders.
• Measure performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
• Recommend or introduce new tools used for fraud detection, prevention, and reporting activities.
• Execute complex SQL queries including joins, subqueries, unions, and temporary tables.
