Job description

This is a Network Engineer position at the Director level within the Technology division at Morgan Stanley. The role focuses on maintaining the stability and reliability of the organization's infrastructure systems to support business operations. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in designing, implementing, and providing operational support for large-scale networks, particularly in a financial services environment. Strong communication skills are essential for explaining network design and facilitating decision-making.

Requirements

  • 8+ years of experience in an enterprise environment, preferably in a Financial Services Firm, Technology vendor, or systems integrator.
  • Broad knowledge of Ethernet technologies, IP routing, and network design.
  • Experience with Cisco/Arista Switching & Routing Platforms.
  • Proficient in UNIX or Linux.
  • Experience with scripting and automation using Python or Ansible is a strong plus.

Responsibilities

  • Ensure optimal performance and availability of the organization's infrastructure systems.
  • Work independently and as a team member to support network operations.
  • Explain network design and articulate risks to facilitate decision-making.
  • Drive enterprise-level initiatives while collaborating with senior stakeholders across different regions.
  • Be flexible and adaptable to meet the team's targets and assist with weekend executions and deployments.
