Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Vice President, Software Engineer to join their Services Group in New York. The role focuses on infrastructure release for wealth management technology, emphasizing transformation initiatives and change risk assessment. The engineer will be responsible for managing software releases and ensuring proper monitoring and governance during large technology events. This position requires collaboration with various teams to enhance production stability and resiliency.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Computer Engineering, Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
  • Five years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate Consultant in the software development field.
  • Five years of experience with infrastructure releases, networks, and authentication products including Kerberos.
  • Proficiency in Apigee, Unix, Windows, Teradata, Snowflake, Tableau, Kafka, Autosys, MQ, SOLR, SQL, Web, Qlikview, GIT, JIRA, MS Visio, PowerPoint, KoreAI, Apica, and Tereo.
  • Experience in wealth management, investment banking, and capital markets.

Responsibilities

  • Work on transformation initiatives in wealth management for release software engineering and change risk assessment.
  • Manage software releases inflight at various stages and address production fixes and mandatory projects.
  • Ensure proper monitoring, management reporting, and governance supporting delivery efforts.
  • Assist in coordinating change execution activities and perform software deployment analysis.
  • Create consolidated implementation plans for change packages consisting of approved changes.
  • Provide metrics and status reporting before, during, and after change events.
  • Assist with issues and risks during change events and follow up to ensure appropriate closure.
  • Transition the environment to the Application Support Group via formalized handshake after each change event.
  • Conduct post-event evaluation, communication, and reporting.
  • Work on large projects originating from production instability to ensure plant resiliency.
