Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director, Software Engineer to develop software for a cross-asset Risk and P&L computation system in New York, NY. The role involves collaborating with business users to gather insights about financial products and markets. The engineer will participate in the entire software development lifecycle, from gathering requirements to designing solutions and writing code. The position allows for telecommuting up to two days per week.
Requirements
- Requires a Master’s in Computational Media, Information Technology, or a related field.
- Requires one year of experience in the position offered or as an Associate Software Developer, Software Engineer, or a related occupation.
- Requires experience with OOP design, Scala or Java, data structures, design patterns, algorithmic complexity, async programming, understanding of multithreading, performance tuning, Git, Bitbucket, and JIRA.
Responsibilities
- Develop software for cross-asset Risk and P&L computation system.
- Collaborate with business users to gather ideas about financial products and financial markets crossing different assets.
- Participate in the lifecycle of software programming development, ranging from gathering business requirements to designing solutions and writing code.
