Job description

Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director, Software Engineer in Chicago, IL to develop and maintain software solutions that support internal business needs. The role involves building technical tools and capabilities while working within the Scrum Framework and Agile methodologies. The successful candidate will focus on software applications for financial markets, particularly in Equities, Futures, and Options. Telecommuting is permitted up to 2 days per week.

Requirements

  • Requires a Master’s degree in Applied Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or a related field.
  • Requires three years of experience in the position offered or three years as a Business Analyst, Software Developer, or a related occupation.
  • Requires three years of experience with Java, Spring, and Spring Boot.
  • Requires experience in developing prototypes and third-party service integration.
  • Requires knowledge of multi-threading and networking protocols, streaming technologies, and Linux environments.
  • Requires proficiency in Git, Maven, Jenkins, Teams, and JIRA.

Responsibilities

  • Build technical tools, connections, and capabilities to support internal business needs.
  • Develop and maintain software solutions that support business needs.
  • Design, develop, deliver, and support the technical platform behind the products and services used by the Business.
  • Develop prototypes and third-party service integration.
  • Develop software applications for financial markets with an understanding of Equities, Futures, and Options.
  • Work within the Scrum Framework and Agile methodologies.
