Job description

The Lead Cybersecurity Engineer position at Morgan Stanley is focused on providing specialist cyber expertise within the Data Leakage Prevention (DLP) Squad. This role involves influencing technology strategy and architecture for critical cybersecurity controls while enhancing service delivery for data protection services. The engineer will manage vendor relationships and deliver technical outcomes that reduce risk and enhance business enablement. The position requires strong leadership and communication skills to engage with stakeholders and drive the adoption of security best practices.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of relevant experience in Cyber Security Engineering.
  • Bachelor’s degree in computer science, Information Security, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Strong cyber security governance fundamentals, including knowledge of security frameworks, risk management, and incident response.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to influence and engage with senior stakeholders.
  • Proven ability to develop and execute strategic security initiatives.

Responsibilities

  • Influence the technology strategy and architecture for critical cyber security controls.
  • Enhance service delivery for data protection services including DLP.
  • Manage multiple vendor relationships to maximize value.
  • Communicate regularly with product leads across the technology organization to discuss opportunities for improvement.
  • Develop and execute the cyber security engineering strategy in line with organizational goals.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators to track the effectiveness of cloud infrastructure.
  • Define and implement strategies to ensure high availability and performance of critical systems.
  • Oversee the implementation of security programs and initiatives across the organization.
  • Drive the adoption of security best practices and ensure team compliance with security policies.
