Job description

Intel is seeking a motivated and talented CPU Physical Design Engineer to join the US CPU design team. This role is critical for developing next-generation CPUs that will drive the AI revolution. The engineer will work on physical design implementation from RTL to GDS and will collaborate closely with various teams to enhance CPU microarchitectures. This position offers the opportunity to contribute to significant technological advancements.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or any STEM related degree and 2+ years of experience OR a master's degree in the same fields and 1+ years of experience.
  • 1+ years of experience in VLSI circuit design and synthesis.
  • 1+ years of experience in static timing analysis.
  • 1+ years of experience in low power design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical design implementation of custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS.
  • Conduct all aspects of the CPU physical design flow including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis.
  • Analyze results and make recommendations to improve CPU microarchitectures.
  • Work with industry EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities for high-speed, low-power CPU design.
  • Optimize CPU design to improve product-level parameters such as power, frequency, and area.
