Job description

The CPU Physical Design Engineer will be a key member of the US CPU design team at Intel, focusing on the development of next-generation CPUs to support the AI revolution. This role involves implementing custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS and ensuring they are ready for manufacturing. The engineer will collaborate closely with various teams to analyze results and improve CPU microarchitectures. This position offers the opportunity to work with industry-leading technology and contribute to significant advancements in computing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer engineering, Computer Science, Electrical/Electronic Engineering, or any STEM related degree with 6+ years of experience, or a master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • 4+ years of experience in VLSI circuit design and synthesis.
  • 4+ years of experience in static timing analysis.
  • 4+ years of experience in low power design.

Responsibilities

  • Perform physical design implementation of custom CPU designs from RTL to GDS.
  • Conduct all aspects of the CPU physical design flow including synthesis, place and route, and static timing analysis.
  • Conduct verification and signoff including formal equivalence verification and reliability verification.
  • Analyze results and make recommendations to improve CPU microarchitectures.
  • Collaborate with logic, circuit, architecture, and design automation teams.
  • Work with industry EDA vendors to enhance tool capabilities for high-speed, low power CPU design.
  • Optimize CPU design to improve product level parameters such as power, frequency, and area.
