Job description

Intel is seeking a motivated engineer to join the US CPU verification team, focusing on the development of next-generation CPUs that will drive the AI revolution. The role involves verifying architecture and micro-architecture changes using dynamic and formal verification methods. Candidates will write verification test plans and develop pre-silicon verification collateral. The position requires collaboration with designers and architects to debug tests and improve design quality.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or related STEM field with 2+ years of relevant work experience, or a Master's degree with 1 year of relevant work experience.
  • In-depth knowledge of computer architecture, particularly out-of-order processor execution and memory management.
  • Experience with hardware modeling languages such as Verilog, VHDL, or System Verilog.
  • Proficiency in programming languages like C/C++, Java, or Specman E, and familiarity with scripting languages such as Perl, Python, Ruby, or TCL.
  • Experience in pre-silicon verification of CPU cores and knowledge of formal verification tools.

Responsibilities

  • Write verification test plans and develop tests to execute those plans.
  • Create pre-silicon verification collateral including behavioral checkers and coverage monitors.
  • Take technical ownership of formal verification for microarchitecture blocks.
  • Analyze coverage gaps and devise strategies to fill those gaps.
  • Collaborate with Global RTL, Arch DV, and Formal teams to define verification strategies.
