This role involves working at the intersection of AI algorithms and low-level performance engineering on Intel hardware. The engineer will contribute to optimizing deep learning performance across various Intel platforms, including CPUs and GPUs. This position offers the chance to engage with the open-source community and collaborate with experts in the field.
Requirements
- BSc, MSc or PhD in Mathematics, Physics, Computer Science or a related field
- 5+ years of experience in C++
- Experience with algorithms and data structures or a strong mathematical background
- Experience in low-level performance optimizations, preferably on GPUs
- 3 years+ experience in high-performance computing (HPC) applications development
- 1 year+ experience with machine learning and deep learning algorithms
- 1 year+ experience in an Agile software development environment
- 1 year+ experience with Intel development tools
- Experience in software libraries design and architecture
- Background in linear algebra solvers, matrix-vector operations, or Fast Fourier Transforms
- Experience in software development on Linux
- Experience with GPU optimizations such as OpenCL, CUDA, SYCL/DPC++, or C for Metal
- Experience in parallel programming using OpenMP, TBB, or MPI
Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and optimize new features and algorithms for oneDNN targeting Intel processors and GPUs.
- Perform performance analysis and optimization to achieve best-in-class deep-learning inference and training throughput.
- Develop hardware-specific parallel algorithms, including multithreading, vectorization, and memory-layout optimizations.
- Contribute to assembly-level programming and low-level performance tuning for Intel microarchitectures.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams across software engineering, architecture, and AI performance.
- Engage with the open-source community, participate in code reviews, and maintain high-quality coding and documentation standards.
Benefits
- Intel offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, stock programs, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and programs supporting employee wellbeing and professional development.
