Job description

The Quality Engineer role at APTD Substrate focuses on enhancing quality standards within Intel's factory environment. The position involves leading a PCS Working Group to ensure effective governance and decision-making. The engineer will also be responsible for educating teams on PCS principles and driving continuous improvement initiatives. This hands-on role requires collaboration with various teams to align quality expectations and integrate advanced statistical methods into processes.

Requirements

  • Master's degree with 4+ years of industry experience or PhD degree with 2+ years of industry experience in Materials Science and Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Organic Chemistry, Polymer Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related engineering degree.
  • Manufacturing experience is required.
  • Six Sigma Black Belt or experience with tool/process PCS, data analysis, and statistical tools and methods is preferred.
  • Program Management experience is preferred.
  • Intermediate knowledge of programming languages such as Python, JavaScript, SQL, or Power BI is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Independently chair and operate a highly effective PCS Working Group that drives disciplined governance and timely decision-making.
  • Act as the primary translator of PCS intent to ensure engineers understand the system's behavior and how to address discrepancies.
  • Convert PCS signals and recurring patterns into organizational learning and durable improvements.
  • Partner with Quality and cross-functional leadership to define and execute a long-term PCS roadmap.
