This is a Principal Software Engineering position at the Vice President level within the Technology division at Morgan Stanley. The role focuses on developing and maintaining software solutions for the Municipal Securities Division's Technology Team, specifically rebuilding the trading tech stack for flow and remarketing trading businesses. The ideal candidate will have strong Java or Scala skills and over 8 years of experience in the Fixed Income industry. The main objective is to enhance automation and electronic trading capabilities while taking ownership of projects from inception to deployment.
Requirements
- 8+ years of professional development experience in the Fixed Income industry.
- Strong coding skills in Java or Scala.
- Degree in Computer Science or Computer Engineering.
- Good knowledge of microservices architecture.
- Good knowledge of SQL and relational databases.
- Familiarity with Fixed Income concepts, including interest and bond calculations.
Responsibilities
- Lead the development of new ideas and policies in the area of software engineering.
- Analyze multiple sets of information to create summaries for various stakeholders.
- Code and deliver software solutions while working closely with clients in sales and trading.
- Take full ownership of projects from requirements gathering to roll-out.
- Troubleshoot and follow a methodical approach to problem resolution.
