The Cybersecurity Engineer role is part of the PKI and Secrets Management team within the Data Protection Services department at Morgan Stanley. This engineering position focuses on designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise cryptographic solutions, including PKI and HSMs. The role requires collaboration with various teams to enhance security measures and manage cryptographic services in a 24/7 environment. The engineer will also work on automating processes and evaluating emerging cryptographic trends.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Cybersecurity, Information Technology, or a related field.
- 5+ years of hands-on experience in cybersecurity engineering or operations, with exposure to cryptographic services.
- Strong understanding of cryptographic principles, protocols, and standards.
- Proven experience managing PKI environments and certificate lifecycle tools.
- Hands-on experience with HSM technologies and key management practices.
- Familiarity with automation and scripting to streamline certificate and key management processes.
- Knowledge of emerging cryptographic trends, including Post-Quantum Cryptography.
Responsibilities
- Communicate regularly with product leads across the organization to discuss opportunities for improvement.
- Design, implement, and maintain enterprise cryptographic infrastructure, including PKI and HSMs.
- Manage the full certificate lifecycle to ensure security, availability, and compliance.
- Engineer and support secure key management solutions leveraging HSMs.
- Monitor and operate cryptographic services in a 24/7 environment.
- Automate certificate and key management processes to reduce manual effort.
- Collaborate with application, infrastructure, and security teams to integrate cryptographic controls.
- Support the evaluation, design, and adoption of Post-Quantum Cryptography capabilities.
