Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director, Software Engineer to design and implement scalable applications for corporate actions processing in global markets. The role involves building systems for internal operations and ensuring timely data ingestion. The successful candidate will also develop exception-handling frameworks and automated tests to maintain system performance. Requirements
- Requires a Master’s in Engineering, Computer Science, or related field of study.
- Requires three years of experience in the position offered or as an Associate, Technology; Software Developer; System Engineer; or related occupation.
- Requires three years of experience with Java, SQL, JavaScript, Spring Boot, DB2, Git, Jenkins, RESTful services, SOAP, and Junit.
- Requires one year of experience with data structures, algorithms, object-oriented programming principles, Python, JIRA, Confluence, APIs, Apache Kafka, JMS, Selenium, Scala, Angular, React, Apache Camel, Elastic search, Grafana, Prometheus, Cucumber, SWIFT (MT/MX), ISO 20022, and proprietary DTCC formats.
Responsibilities
- Design and implement scalable applications for end-to-end processing of corporate actions.
- Build systems to support internal operations and systemic connectivity with custodians and vendors.
- Develop exception-handling frameworks for break resolution and mismatch reporting.
- Create automated tests to ensure full coverage of regression scenarios.
- Monitor system performance metrics including data pipeline health and processing latency.
