Morgan Stanley is seeking a Director, Lead Software Engineer in Boston, MA, to work closely with key Investment Management stakeholders. The role focuses on understanding business requirements and building technical solutions within an Agile team. The engineer will ensure high standards in design, security, and system availability while coordinating with cross-functional teams. This position also involves providing production support for technical issues and ensuring adherence to coding standards.
Requirements
- Requires a Bachelor's degree in Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or a related field of study.
- Requires five years of experience in the position offered or five years as a Manager, Associate, Software Engineer, or a closely related occupation.
- Requires five years of experience with Java, Spring Boot, and Spring Framework.
- Requires five years of experience with Microservices and Webservices including REST and SOAP.

Responsibilities
- Work closely with key Investment Management stakeholders to understand business requirements.
- Build required technical solutions within an Agile team.
- Ensure all key technical requirements are identified, estimated, designed, implemented, and tested.
- Support IT systems to maintain high standards on design, security, and system availability.
- Coordinate with cross-functional, technology, and business teams for day-to-day business operations.
- Ensure the team follows firm-wide and departmental coding standards, consistent design patterns, methodologies, and documentation.
- Respond to technical issues by providing production support for Level 1 and 2 escalations.
