Job description

The Intel CPU Team is seeking a Senior CPU Power Delivery Engineer to lead efforts in power delivery solutions and reliability for next-generation CPU cores. This role involves collaboration across circuit design and physical integration in a dynamic environment. The engineer will work on various design activities, ensuring the power distribution network meets specifications. Candidates should be motivated and technically savvy, ready to tackle challenges in power management and design convergence.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical/Computer Engineering or related field with 10+ years of work experience, or a Master's degree with 7+ years, or a PhD with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in Physical Design, SoC Design, or CPU Design.
  • Knowledge of Very Large Scale Integration (VLSI).
  • Experience in Power Delivery design, implementation, and validation of high-performance and low-power designs.
  • Familiarity with Mentor Graphics RedHawk or equivalent commercial tool for EM and IR drop analysis.

Responsibilities

  • Perform feasibility studies, design, verification, and simulation of power distribution networks and sign off on IR/EM metrics.
  • Collaborate with power management architects and layout teams to define and implement power gating solutions.
  • Work with RTL, SD, and Circuit teams to ensure convergence on all PDN metrics.
  • Define bump patterns and on-die power grids.
  • Coordinate with the package integration team to ensure the complete IP system meets design specifications.
  • Assist the post-Silicon debug team in triaging, debugging, and fixing potential power distribution network issues.
