Job description

The SOC Performance Architect role at Intel involves working within a dynamic team to enhance performance and innovation across the XEON CPU and AI portfolio. This position focuses on evaluating complex hardware features and ensuring compatibility between software and hardware designs. The ideal candidate will contribute to the architecture of future products while providing technical expertise for next-generation initiatives. This role is part of the Datacenter Power and Performance Architecture group, which aims to deliver leadership performance and efficiency in data-centric computing.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or Computer Science with 2+ years of relevant experience, or a Master’s or PhD in the same fields.
  • Hands-on experience with SoC-level development, computer architecture, operating systems, system validation, and/or related fields.
  • Exposure to system performance evaluation and power analysis, including pre/post silicon work.
  • Proficiency in programming languages such as C, C++, and Python, as well as parallel programming (CUDA, MPI) and scripting languages (Bash, Shell, Ruby).

Responsibilities

  • Work collaboratively with design, validation, and architecture teams to deliver best-in-class performance.
  • Determine, specify, and evaluate the viability of complex hardware features and structures.
  • Design frameworks for specific functions and define processes for technical platforms.
  • Identify, analyze, and resolve subsystem and/or SoC design weaknesses.
  • Influence the architecture used across design families to shape future products.
