Job description
The Module Development Engineer at Oregon Advanced Packaging (ORAP) will play a crucial role in driving equipment performance and product quality in a safe and cost-effective manner. This position requires a strong technical background and a hands-on approach to managing process equipment and hardware. The engineer will engage in continuous improvement initiatives and provide expert technical support to manufacturing operations. This role is essential for ensuring optimal functionality and availability of equipment while fostering innovation and collaboration.
Requirements
- MS Degree in mechanical engineering, Electrical and/or Electronic Engineering, Chemical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or related STEM field.
- Experience with fab processes, database analysis, and knowledge in Excel, JMP, Power Query, SQL, MATLAB, SOLIDWORKS, Power BI, Arduino, C++, Python, and MES.
- Technical knowledge in statistical process control, commonality analysis, design of experiments, and failure modes/effects analysis (FMEA).
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.
Responsibilities
- Own execution of maintenance and repair activities for equipment and relevant module components.
- Initiate and own continuous improvement of equipment and processes for key performance indicators.
- Engage in hands-on training and development activities to ensure optimal functionality of process equipment.
- Participate in the transfer of technology to other sites through training and audits.
- Assess, improve, and optimize processing techniques in high-volume manufacturing settings.
- Provide expert technical support to manufacturing operations to resolve complex issues.
- Lead New Product Introduction and integration of new technologies.
- Own development and optimization of excursion prevention systems for equipment and processes.
- Ensure safe and timely installation and qualification of equipment during factory ramps.
