Job description

The GPU Pre-Silicon Validation Engineer will work within a team focused on innovative graphics technologies at Intel. This role involves defining, developing, and performing functional validation for GPUs, ensuring their interaction with media, display, and system-level features. The engineer will apply various hardware and software tools to meet performance, power, and area goals while collaborating with cross-functional teams. The position offers the opportunity to influence validation infrastructure and methodologies, contributing to the overall gaming experience.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, electrical engineering, computer engineering, or related STEM degree and 6+ years of industry experience, or a Master's degree with 4+ years of experience.
  • Knowledge of computer architecture and GPU microarchitecture fundamentals.
  • Experience with GPU functional testing.
  • Experience with pre-silicon validation techniques, tools, and debug.
  • Proficiency in software programming in C/C++ and/or scripting languages such as Python.

Responsibilities

  • Define, develop, and perform functional validation for GPUs.
  • Review proposed design changes to assess their impact on validation plans and timelines.
  • Develop GPU validation methodologies and execute validation plans.
  • Collaborate with other engineers for design optimization, troubleshooting, and failure analysis.
  • Perform pre-silicon debug to identify root causes and resolve functional failures for GPU issues.
  • Test interactions between various GPU features using validation infrastructure.
  • Publish GPU validation reports summarizing all validation activities and communicate results to relevant teams.
