Job description

This position at Intel focuses on the development of silicon photonic integrated circuits (PICs) and requires expertise in designing and simulating these components. Requirements

  • MS degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline with 5+ years of experience in a related field, or a PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or a similar discipline with 3+ years of experience.
  • Experience in the development of photonic-integrated-circuits from concept to high volume manufacturing.
  • Experience designing, simulating, and testing complex PICs, including link budget analysis and performance indicators.
  • Familiarity with optical design and simulation tools such as Lumerical, RSoft, Tidy3D, and numerical simulation tools such as Matlab or Python.
  • Experience contributing to or leading PIC tape-outs.

Responsibilities

  • Define and drive the overall integrated silicon photonic chip development plan at system and device level.
  • Design and optimize photonic integrated circuits and play a key role in the development of photonic technologies.
  • Own overall silicon PIC development execution and coordination from architecture definition to KGD delivery.
  • Work cross-functionally with foundries, design, validation, quality, and reliability teams.
