Job description

The Senior IPU SoC Architect will lead the architectural vision for Infrastructure Processing Unit (IPU) and Data Processing Unit (DPU) platforms. This strategic role involves defining compute, memory, and coherency architectures to ensure optimal performance for data center solutions. The architect will influence multi-generational architecture roadmaps and drive technical decisions within the company. Collaboration with diverse engineering teams and establishing performance benchmarks will be key aspects of this high-impact position.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, or a STEM related field.
  • 8+ years of SoC, CPU, or subsystem architecture experience with proven leadership in compute and/or memory system design.
  • 8+ years of experience in networking performance engineering, systems performance optimization, or SoC/IPU/DPU architecture roles.
  • Experience in high-speed Ethernet, packet processing, and data center networking technologies.
  • Experience defining and executing performance workload methodologies and KPI-driven validation processes.

Responsibilities

  • Lead comprehensive architecture development for IPU SoCs from initial concept through silicon implementation and post-silicon optimization.
  • Define multi-generation SoC architecture strategy, including processor selection and performance/power optimization.
  • Architect scalable coherent mesh and interconnect fabrics optimizing for latency and bandwidth.
  • Design advanced system memory architectures incorporating DDR/HBM technologies and cache coherency protocols.
  • Drive SMMU/IOMMU architecture for virtualization-intensive IPU workloads.
  • Conduct comprehensive architecture studies balancing performance, power consumption, and cost implications.
  • Establish representative performance benchmarks for IPU/DPU applications.
  • Transform product requirements into measurable performance indicators and success metrics.
  • Create comprehensive workload testing frameworks covering various testing scenarios.
  • Provide technical guidance across silicon design, firmware development, and system architecture teams.

Benefits

  • Intel offers a comprehensive benefits package including competitive pay, stock programs, healthcare coverage, retirement plans, paid time off, parental leave, and programs supporting employee wellbeing and professional development.
