Job description

The Principal Cloud Architect at KLA is responsible for designing and optimizing scalable cloud architecture across various environments. This role collaborates with engineering, security, and business stakeholders to define cloud strategies and deliver high-quality solutions. The position is part of the Information Technology group, which focuses on enhancing technology to empower employees and drive business growth. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in cloud architecture and a strong foundation in cloud networking and security.

Requirements

  • 10+ years of experience in cloud architecture and design
  • Expert in Azure, AWS, or GCP services
  • Solid understanding of IaaS, PaaS, and cloud security best practices
  • Experience with network design and implementation in a cloud environment
  • Strong communication, leadership, and stakeholder management skills

Responsibilities

  • Design and architect secure, scalable, and resilient cloud solutions across AWS, Azure, GCP, or hybrid environments
  • Lead cloud modernization initiatives including application refactoring, re-platforming, and migration from on-premises to cloud
  • Define cloud architecture standards, reference architectures, and best practices
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to build CI/CD pipelines, IaC templates, and automated deployment frameworks
  • Conduct architectural reviews, threat modeling, and performance optimization
  • Guide cloud security posture, compliance frameworks, and identity and access management (IAM)
  • Mentor cloud engineers, DevOps teams, and solution architects
  • Evaluate new cloud technologies and drive innovation
