The role is for a senior engineer in KLA's Central Engineering Group, focusing on Model-Based Systems Engineering (MBSE) for large-scale hardware-centric systems. This position offers technical ownership and the opportunity to influence system architecture while collaborating with various teams. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in MBSE and experience in sophisticated product environments. The role is critical for driving clarity in complex systems and ensuring successful product development from concept to production.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of experience in a Model-Based Systems Engineering role
  • Strong command of SysML and tools such as Cameo or MATLAB System Composer
  • Experience with modeling, simulation, and analysis tools including MATLAB, Python, R, JMP, Arena, or similar
  • Solid understanding of PLM / PLC tools and processes
  • Practical experience using AI-enabled tools to accelerate systems engineering, modeling, or analysis workflows

Responsibilities

  • Lead Model-Based Systems Engineering efforts for large-scale, multidisciplinary hardware-centric systems
  • Drive requirements using the RFLoP framework to ensure traceability and scalability
  • Develop and maintain SysML models and artifacts, including hierarchies, state machines, activity diagrams, and allocations
  • Translate system-level architectures into clear, executable subsystem specifications
  • Support the full systems engineering V-model, from requirements decomposition through verification and validation
  • Perform system-level modeling, simulation, and develop trade studies to guide technical decisions
  • Lead and contribute to design reviews, DFx coordination, and certification activities, partnering closely with hardware, software, and manufacturing teams

Benefits

  • Employees at KLA are often offered competitive pay with bonuses, a 401(k) match, an employee stock purchase program, and financial perks like student-debt assistance, planning support, and group insurance discounts. Health and lifestyle benefits typically include medical/dental/vision, life and other voluntary coverages, paid time off and holidays, family leave, backup care, wellness rewards, gym discounts, and community-volunteering opportunities. Employees also get strong growth support through tuition reimbursement, KLA’s corporate learning center, education awards, and engineering certification programs.
