The Product Installation Engineer role at KLA is crucial for ensuring the successful installation and qualification of advanced semiconductor equipment at customer sites worldwide. This position serves as the first point of contact for customers, shaping their initial impressions of KLA's products and services. The role requires extensive travel and collaboration with various teams to ensure installations meet quality standards and are completed on schedule. The KLA Services team focuses on maintaining high performance and productivity through a flexible portfolio of services.
Requirements
- Strong knowledge of electronics, optics, mechanical, electro-mechanical, and electro-optical systems is required.
- Experience with high-vacuum systems is strongly preferred.
- Comfort working with computer systems, operating systems, and networking, including Windows and Unix environments.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications is necessary.
- Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and troubleshooting abilities are required.
- Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills are essential.
- Candidates must be highly self-motivated, organized, and detail-oriented.
- Ability to work effectively across cultures, functions, and geographies is required.
- An Associate of Science in Electronics Technology or equivalent work experience in supporting complex capital equipment for the semiconductor industry is required.
Responsibilities
- Install and qualify advanced KLA systems at customer sites globally, ensuring installations are completed on schedule and meet quality standards.
- Diagnose, troubleshoot, and resolve technical issues during installation by identifying root causes and implementing effective solutions.
- Perform setup, alignment, calibration, and verification of highly complex semiconductor capital equipment.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with KLA regions, engineering, and customer teams to verify system performance and transfer tool ownership.
- Provide clear status updates to all stakeholders throughout the installation process.
- Complete installation documentation and administrative requirements accurately and on time.
- Secure warranty sign-off on newly installed tools.
