Job description
The Senior Algorithm Software Architect role at KLA focuses on leading the design and delivery of GPU-accelerated, high-performance computing software. The position involves setting architectural direction and collaborating with product and domain experts to create scalable systems for large-scale compute and data workflows. The FaST Division, which provides metrology solutions for semiconductor manufacturers, seeks a candidate with extensive experience in software architecture and GPU programming. This role emphasizes technical leadership and mentoring within a dynamic team environment.
Requirements
- 10+ years in software engineering and 5+ years in software architecture for HPC or large-scale systems
- Expertise in C++ (17/20) and one scripting language, preferably Python
- Strong knowledge of GPU programming, including CUDA and OpenCL
- Experience with parallel and distributed computing stacks such as MPI and NCCL
- Hands-on experience with cluster orchestration tools like Slurm and Kubernetes
Responsibilities
- Own the end-to-end software architecture for HPC/GPU platforms including services, libraries, and data pipelines
- Lead technical strategy and define candidate architectures while driving design reviews
- Design and implement GPU kernels and frameworks, optimizing for throughput and latency
- Establish performance engineering practices such as profiling and benchmarking
- Mentor engineers and provide technical leadership on design and delivery
