Job description

The role involves designing, prototyping, and building the next generation of broadband plasma wafer inspection opto-mechanical assemblies. The position is part of KLA's Broadband Plasma Division, which focuses on market-leading patterned wafer optical inspection systems. The team collaborates with various engineering disciplines to ensure the best product outcomes and smooth product launches. Candidates should have a strong background in opto-mechanical design and experience with CAD tools.

Requirements

  • Doctorate degree with 3 years of related work experience, Master's degree with 6 years of experience, or Bachelor's degree with 8 years of experience.
  • Proficiency in CAD and simulation packages, preferably Creo and ANSYS.
  • A track record of successful opto-mechanical designs from requirements to production.
  • Knowledge of tolerance analysis, optical mounting, and actuator selection.
  • Experience with heat transfer and structural simulations is strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Design, prototype, and build opto-mechanical assemblies for wafer inspection.
  • Use CAD and simulation tools to guide and implement designs.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams including systems, optical, electrical, and software engineers.
  • Work with manufacturing and support organizations to ensure smooth product launches.
  • Help resolve product issues as they arise.
