The Senior Software Development Engineer (Sr. SDE) at AGI Data Services will focus on creating and maintaining systems for mining software engineering data to enhance Amazon's AI models. This role emphasizes the development of GenAI-powered workflow tools that improve data collection and quality assurance processes. The Sr. SDE will work closely with cross-functional teams, including Applied Scientists and Technical Program Managers, to ensure high-quality datasets for model training. This position offers significant visibility to senior leadership and is crucial for advancing the team's engineering practices.
Requirements
- 5+ years of non-internship professional software development experience
- 5+ years of programming experience with at least one software programming language
- 5+ years of experience leading design or architecture of new and existing systems
- Experience as a mentor, tech lead, or leading an engineering team
- Bachelor's degree in computer science or equivalent
- 5+ years of experience in the full software development life cycle
- Master's degree
- Knowledge of Machine Learning and LLM fundamentals
- Knowledge of general AI tools
Responsibilities
- Identify high-quality software engineering data valuable for model training.
- Design, build, and scale automated systems that mine and curate datasets.
- Architect judge pipelines and develop evaluation rubrics and scoring frameworks.
- Collaborate with Applied Scientists, Technical Program Managers, and domain experts.
- Define strategy and use spec-driven development to identify high-value SWE data.
- Dive deep into data quality anecdotes to find patterns and propose improvements.
- Communicate impact and roadmaps to cross-functional partners.
- Leverage other SDEs for human-in-loop judgment to improve data quality.
- Regularly communicate with senior leadership on defined approaches.
