The Mechanical Engineer at Amazon Robotics will work within an interdisciplinary team to design and develop innovative robotics solutions. This role focuses on taking products from concept to production, ensuring smooth launches and ongoing support. The engineer will engage in prototyping, validation, and testing while collaborating with various departments. A commitment to thorough engineering analysis and ownership of projects is essential.
Requirements
- 5+ years of working in mechanical engineering or equivalent experience
- Bachelor's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering or related field
- Experience with prototyping and implementation
- Experience with DFx (Design for cost, test, manufacturing)
- SolidWorks or similar CAD experience
- Hands-on experience crafting proof-of-concept models and prototypes
- Desire to work in a fast-paced environment and customer focused
- Master's degree in robotics, mechanical/mechatronics engineering, systems engineering or related field is a plus
Responsibilities
- Work with an interdisciplinary team to execute product designs from concept to production
- Collaborate with Operations, Manufacturing, Supply Chain, and Quality organizations to ensure smooth product launch
- Write functional specifications, design verification plans, and functional test procedures
- Design and adapt holistic hardware solutions for ambiguous problems with fluid requirements
- Support domestic and international travel as required by the program
