Job description

As a CPU CDC/STA Engineer at Apple, you will be integral in analyzing designs and driving improvements in Lint, Clock Domain Crossing (CDC), Reset Domain Crossing (RDC), and Static Timing Analysis (STA) for CPUs across various design sites. This role involves collaboration with multiple teams, including RTL, DV, and Physical Design, to enhance methodologies and ensure robust sign-offs. You will also work closely with EDA vendors to address tool issues and implement new strategies. Your contributions will help shape the future of Apple's groundbreaking products.

Requirements

  • A minimum of a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field.
  • Scripting experience with TCL or Perl.
  • Experience in Static Timing Analysis (STA), Clock-Domain Crossing (CDC), or Reset Domain Crossing (RDC) solutions.
  • Experience in SystemVerilog Assertions (SVA) and Design Verification (DV) Simulations.
  • Knowledge in Spyglass, VC-Static, PrimeTime, or Meridian is a plus.
  • Experience in Verilog.

Responsibilities

  • Develop, improve, and maintain the CDC and RDC sign-offs for CPU designs.
  • Work with RTL and DV teams to recommend System Verilog assertions needed to support CDC/RDC/STA constraints and assumptions.
  • Develop, enhance, and maintain key STA checks and associated sign-offs for CPUs.
  • Debug vendor tool problems and collaborate with designers to solve their issues.
  • Work closely with EDA vendor representatives to drive improvements and new methodologies.
  • Collaborate with RTL, Verification, CAD, and Physical Design teams.

Benefits

  • Employees at Apple are often offered comprehensive benefits that support physical and mental well-being—flexible medical plans, confidential counseling, onsite wellness centers at major campuses, and resources for fitness and daily life. Families typically receive fertility support, paid parental leave with gradual return, caregiving leave, and dependent-care guidance, while financial perks commonly include stock grants (with purchase discounts), 401(k) matching, and income-protection coverage. Employees also see robust time off, Apple University learning and tuition reimbursement, donation matching and paid volunteer hours, and deep product and partner discounts.
