Job description
The Senior Ports Civil Engineer will be part of Jacobs' Ports & Maritime team, focusing on delivering complex maritime infrastructure projects from planning through construction. This role involves collaboration with a multi-disciplinary team of engineers, planners, architects, and scientists to enhance sustainability and resilience in communities. The position is based in the Philadelphia or NY/NJ area and offers exposure to a global portfolio of projects. The engineer will play a key role in the growth of the Ports and Maritime practice in the US East and beyond.
Requirements
- Bachelor’s Degree in Civil or related Engineering.
- Professional Engineer (PE) License.
- Substantial years of experience in the design of utilities, drainage, grading, or paving at port facilities or other site developments.
- Experience in the design and design management of waterfront projects and facilities.
- Proficient in the use of AutoDesk Civil3D for site development projects.
Responsibilities
- Lead the planning, design, and coordination of stormwater drainage infrastructure, utilities, grading, paving, and site layout for maritime infrastructure.
- Work closely with a team of local and remote multi-disciplinary engineers, design managers, and subject matter experts to deliver projects and proposals.
- Assist in or lead the technical input on proposals and participate in interviews and presentations.
- Manage the successful delivery of contract documents, design basis, technical specifications, and other client deliverables.
- Contribute to the preparation of technical and cost proposals.
